Accounting Clerk

RESPONSIBILITIES Process documents such as daily labour cards, progress billings, payroll, shippers, invoices, accounts payable, vouchers and travelers checks. Type and file vouchers, invoices, statements, reports and maintain records. Assist in the preparation of financial reports and operating statements. Maintain, check and balance records for accuracy. Assist in preparation of journal vouchers and reports. Post and balance ledgers. Interface with functional departments, management, vendors and customers. Distribute pay checks, time cards and reports. Job Requirements 2+ Accounting/Payroll experience or demonstrated ability to perform described responsibilities. Prior computer experience (i.e. Lotus 1,2,3) and data entry preferred. Ability to accurately input and calculate numbers and operate a 10 key calculator by touch. Knowledge of basic accounting principles as well as California labour laws and taxes where applicable. Accurate typing skills of 35 WPM may be required. Belcan is an equal opportunity employer.
