In this position, you will guide complex mechanical engineering efforts that shape next-generation technology and support high-visibility programs.Lead and manage complex mechanical engineering projects from concept through execution, ensuring technical excellence and on-time delivery.Provide expert-level guidance in the design, development, and refinement of advanced mechanical systems.Perform high-level analyses, simulations, and design evaluations to drive optimal performance and reliability.Mentor, coach, and elevate junior engineers, strengthening the team's technical depth and engineering rigor.Prepare, review, and present detailed technical documentation, analyses, and reports to support decision-making and project milestones.Collaborate closely with internal teams, cross-functional partners, and external stakeholders to ensure alignment, progress, and overall program success.Qualifications You Must Have:You'll bring deep engineering expertise and the leadership skills needed to support a high-impact environment with complex technical challenges.Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or a related technical discipline.A higher-level relevant degree may substitute for experience.Expert knowledge of mechanical design principles and proficiency with industry-standard CAD tools.Strong understanding of core engineering principles and their application in real-world environments.Experience with Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) tools.Demonstrated success collaborating within multi-disciplinary design and development teams.Qualifications We Prefer:Master's or PhD in a related field.Experience applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5Understanding of Engineering Simulation such as Finite Element structural analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Thermal AnalysisBackground in the Aerospace and Defense IndustryKnowledge of industry-standard mechanical design principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing, and production processesKnowledge of environmental requirements for components utilized in aircraft and space applicationsExperience providing technical guidance to a diverse team of engineers on issues related to mechanical engineeringEssential Functions:Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.Occasional travel may be required.Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment.Applying systematic and logical problem-solving techniques to develop mechanical designsClearly convey technical information, design specifications, and project updates to team members, stakeholders, and managementAbility to understand technical documents, designs and test reports.This posting will be open for application for a minimum of 5 days and may be extended based on business needs.SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.SNC offers a generous benefit package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, 401(k) with 150% match up to 6%, life insurance, 3 weeks paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and more.IMPORTANT NOTICE: This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
