HR Generalist

SUMMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Atalco Gramercy, LLC is seeking a dynamic and self-driven Human Resources professional to support the Talent Lifecycle at our Gramercy facility. As the HR Generalist, you will support the entire employee lifecycle-from recruitment and onboarding to development and succession planning. Your primary focus will be recruiting activities and providing support to instill policies and procedures consistently throughout the department and the company.

The ideal candidate will champion an inclusive, high-performance culture and serve as a trusted partner with internal department team members and external department stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety Leadership

• Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all site safety policies and procedures.

Recruitment and Hiring

• Oversee the recruitment process, ensuring a robust talent pipeline and effective onboarding of new hires. Foster a culture of diversity and inclusion in hiring and talent management processes.

• Create and maintain job descriptions for hourly and salaried company full-time positions.

Human Resources & Learning Team Support

• Complete special projects by clarifying project objectives; setting timetables and schedules; conducting research; and developing and organizing information.

• Support the HR department in implementing programs to help improve the employee experience and increase engagement.

• Back up the Labor Relations Manager on the collective bargaining agreement (CBA).

• Engage and participate in employee events sponsored by the Company.

SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Internet Explorer, and other general-purpose and industry-specific software. Experience with HR platforms, data analysis tools, and learning management systems (LMS) is highly beneficial.

• Solid understanding of policies and procedures, particularly as they relate to Human Resources company policies.

• Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations, and ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Must be proactive, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver presentations and clear messaging to diverse audiences internally and externally.

• Collaborative team player who actively shares knowledge and supports others.

• Willingness to travel for seminars, training programs, and ongoing professional development.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree (or related field technical degree) in Human Resources, Organization Design, Education, Business Administration or related field required.

• Equivalent combination of education and extensive human resources / recruiting experience considered.

• 3-5 years of Human Resources experience in a refinery, chemical plant, mining, metals processing, or heavy industrial environment preferred.

• Must be eligible to work in the US.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Ability to read, analyze and interpret information. Ability to write reports and basics business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, managers, clients, customers and the general public.

POST OFFER/ACCEPTANCE:

• Must successfully complete Atalco Gramercy's required drug screening and physical examination.

• TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) required prior to offer acceptance; MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) training to be completed upon hire.
