Lead Sourcing Commodity Specialist

Job Description Summary Negotiate with dedicated providers according to specific policies. Achieve the best contractual conditions while also ensuring internal customer satisfaction. In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area. Responsibilities Define supplier strategy including management and optimization of supplier panels. Lead negotiations and allocate needs to specific suppliers. Negotiate terms and conditions and transmit information to Procurement. Manage claims. Include commercial sourcing management such as data analysis, negotiations support, etc. Develop in-depth knowledge of a discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired expertise to execute functional policy/strategy. Act as an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills. Communicate with direct colleagues and the business about design and coordination services. Provide informal guidance to new team members. Explain complex information to others in straightforward situations. Impact projects, processes and procedures in own field. Operate with some autonomy but focus on execution of activities/provision of advice within standard functional practices and procedures. Activities require professional judgement but may require more senior guidance. Utilise technical expertise and judgement to solve problems. Leverage technical skills and analytic thinking to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Finance, or related field + a minimum 3 years of experience in Commodity Management/Manufacturing or a high school diploma/GED with at least 7 years of experience in Commodity Management/Manufacturing 3+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, supply chain, procurement, or commodity management Demonstrated experience with supplier negotiations, contracts, and cost reduction initiatives Proven ability to manage a global supply base and work across cross‑functional teams Preferred Qualifications Experience in aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated, complex manufacturing environments Strong knowledge of commodity management, cost modelling, and total cost of ownership concepts Demonstrated skills in negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems, sourcing tools, and data analysis (e.g., Excel) Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to brief leadership Export‑Controlled Information This role requires access to U.S. export‑controlled information.
