House Supervisor

Part-Time House SupervisorJoin our community and experience Emerson College! Seeking a qualified individual to serve as a part-time House Supervisor during events. Reporting to the Guest Experience Manager, this position works on a rotating schedule with other part-time House Supervisors to manage a variety of events across the Emerson College Office of the Arts' six performance venues, and requires frequent nights and weekends. Call time is two hours prior to scheduled events until "all clear" and hours vary based on the event schedule.Essential Job DutiesAssist full-time staff to support client wishes and objectives before, during, and after events.Train, motivate, supervise, and discipline all front of house staff including Head Ushers, Lobby Ushers, and House Ushers.Lead usher staff to see to the safety and comfort of all guests: guests are safe at all times; guests get complete, accurate, knowledgeable, and responsive assistance from usher staff; guests feel honored and well served.Coordinate usher staff to execute emergency evacuationsAssist concessionaires to create a profitable and appropriate retail environmentRepresent management at merchandise count-in, count-out, and cash settlementAssist guests with specific needsMonitor the patrons and staff to ensure safety and securityWork as House Usher, Lobby Usher, Head Usher as scheduledQualifications – Qualifications are deemed required or preferred and represent what is needed to effectively perform job.Five years of customer service experienceThree years previous experience in House ManagementKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities – May be representative, but not all-inclusive, of those knowledge, skills, and abilities commonly associated with the job.Strong leadership, communication and problem solving skills are requiredMust be able to handle challenging situations with the public with confidence, skill, and professionalismMust be a team player who is able to work well in a fast paced environmentComputer proficiency in Google Suite, including Docs, Sheets, and GmailCash handling and POS experience is a plus!Physical Abilities – Activities commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.Requires the ability to stand and/or sit for long periods of timeRequired to move/lift objects that are – Up to 20lbsWork Environment – Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.Usual Office ConditionsTheaterRate of pay for this position is $20-22 per hour.Grade of Position: T01N Employment Category: Intermittent
