The Compliance Attorney works under minimal supervision and relies on detailed instructions to plan and accomplish goals.Essential Functions and Responsibilities:Collect, organize, and store Outside Counsel Guidelines (OCGs) and engagement termsResearch and provide guidance regarding Market Abuse RegulationsCollaborate with practice areas and firm departments (marketing, IT) to provide specific information requested and adhere compliance feasibility with client's OCGs and engagement termsHelp keep firm attorneys and staff apprised of their specific roles and responsibilities under existing OCGs and engagement termsIdentity new matters involving Personal Health Information (PHI) and verify execution of Business Associate AgreementsMaintain database of OCGs to keep track of and enable internal compliance with various provisions (e.g. AI, Privacy)Liaise directly with external firm clients in the negotiation of OCGsWork closely with the Deputy General CounselsJob Specifications:Juris Doctorate (JD) and licensed in NYAt least one (1) year of related work experienceKnowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)Knowledge of law firm financial analysis and billing, market intelligence, and legal research softwareStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to handle and maintain confidential informationAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced environment-Successful candidates will be provided with outstanding career opportunities and will receive a competitive total rewards package with the opportunity to earn performance-based bonuses.Target Hiring Range $127,000 - $161,000Please note that quoted salary ranges are not guarantees of what final salary offers may be. Base pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. Base pay is only one part of the Total Rewards that MWS provides to compensate and recognize our staff professionals for their work.
