Make a meaningful difference supporting students as a Paraprofessional in a vibrant elementary school setting. This contract opportunity offers the rewarding experience of working closely alongside special education staff in a self-contained environment dedicated to helping students with behavioral needs succeed. The position is full-time, starting as soon as possible and continuing through May 2027, located onsite. You’ll play a vital role in a collaborative, supportive team made up of fellow paraprofessionals and special education teachers, ensuring individualized care and academic progress for a small group of students.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Prior experience as a paraprofessional or working with children with behavioral challenges preferred
- Patience, adaptability, and a caring, empathetic attitude
- Comfort following individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention strategies
- Strong communications skills for interacting with students, teachers, and families
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to students in a self-contained classroom, focusing on behavior management and academic guidance
- Collaborate closely with a team of two paraprofessionals and one special education teacher to ensure individualized student support
- Assist in implementing behavior intervention plans and reinforcing positive behaviors
- Help create a safe, structured, and encouraging learning environment
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the special education team
