Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our Nursing Department. As a DON, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the Nursing Department, ensuring that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times. Responsibilities:

• Plan, develop, and implement the nursing service department's policies and procedures

• Coordinate nursing services with other resident services to ensure continuity of care

• Monitor the facility's QI, QM, and survey reports

• Develop work assignments and schedule duty hours for nursing personnel

• Make daily rounds of the nursing service department to ensure quality care

• Assist with infection control monitoring and reporting occupational exposures

• Review nurses' notes and monitor medication passes and treatment schedules

• Coordinate continuing education/in-service training for nursing department

• Maintain confidentiality of resident care information

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a supervisor in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related health care facility.

• Registered Nurse with current unencumbered state license

• Current CPR Certification

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

• Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday

• Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position

• Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of the facility
