Clinical Laboratory Manager - Invitae

Labcorp seeks a Clinical Laboratory Operations Manager for its Invitae Genetics team in San Francisco. The role oversees daily laboratory operations, quality compliance, team leadership, and resource management for a high-complexity clinical genetics facility.
Responsibilities
- Provide operational oversight and ensure reliable, efficient daily laboratory operations and workflows
- Monitor departmental performance, staffing, capacity, and escalate concerns to Site Director
- Support compliance with CLIA, CAP, state/federal, and company requirements; maintain inspection readiness
- Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and laboratory personnel; support workforce planning and retention
- Identify workflow improvement opportunities and support implementation of process changes and new technologies
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical/Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
- 10+ years clinical laboratory experience
- 5+ years directly managing employees in supervisory or management role
- 2+ years high-complexity clinical laboratory environment experience
- 2+ years NGS-based genetic testing and molecular diagnostics experience (preferred)
- 2+ years laboratory automation and high-throughput operations experience (preferred)
- 2+ years continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma (preferred)
