Adjunct Faculty - Agriculture

Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions hired each semester on an as-needed basis. The adjunct faculty instructor will be responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the School. PROGRAM OPERATION: Performs all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes. Provides syllabus appropriate to course(s) being taught to students and follows syllabus content and requirements. Maintains student attendance and grading records according to College policy as outlined in the Adjunct Handbook. Submits requested information within established timelines. STUDENTS: Is available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions and/or provide assistance. Deal with student concerns and, if necessary, consult with program coordinator to resolve issues. INSTRUCTION: Meets all scheduled classes of contracted course(s). Use technology such as Canvas, PowerPoint, etc. as appropriate. In the event of an emergency absence, notifies program/department chair. Must have strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to the area of instruction and faculty credentials as outlined in the ASOM 7.1 as applicable to the specific area of instruction. Qualifications for AGRI 114 – Introduction to Agricultural Systems Earned master’s or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in Agricultural and Biological Engineering, Agricultural Systems, Management, Agronomy, Animal Science or Agricultural Economics, or Agriculture Education. Qualifications for AGRI 219 – Crop Machinery & Equipment Possesses an earned baccalaureate or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in the fields of Agricultural and Biological Engineering, Agriculture Education, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Systems Management, Agronomy, Animal Science, Botany, Horticulture, or Plant Science; or Possesses a current Workplace Specialist License granted by the Indiana Department of Education appropriate to course objectives and directly linked to credentials, certifications, and competencies listed in the Course Outline of Record (COR); or Possesses an earned associate or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution directly related to the program’s discipline and has two years of directly related work experience. Other Requirements Selected candidate will be subject to pre‑employment background checks, including criminal history check, and any offer of employment will be contingent upon that outcome. Copies of transcripts may be required at time of interview. Original hard copies of transcripts will be required at time of hire.
