We are looking for an Accounting Assistant to support day-to-day financial operations for a construction and contractor-focused business. This contract opportunity with permanent potential is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable handling high-volume financial records with accuracy. The person in this role will help maintain smooth accounting processes by working across payables, receivables, data entry, and routine reporting activities. Responsibilities: • Enter financial transactions into accounting systems with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. • Process vendor invoices, match supporting documentation, and assist with timely accounts payable activities. • Record incoming payments and help maintain accurate accounts receivable balances. • Reconcile bank activity and review financial records to identify discrepancies or missing information. • Prepare routine accounting reports and organize documentation for internal review. • Use QuickBooks and related tools to manage daily bookkeeping tasks and transaction processing. • Maintain orderly records for expense vouchers, receipts, and other supporting financial documents. • Assist with general accounting administration to help ensure daily operations run efficiently and correctly.• At least 2 years of experience in an accounting, bookkeeping, or accounting clerk position. • Hands-on experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. • Proficiency with QuickBooks and comfort working within accounting software platforms. • Strong data entry skills with a consistent focus on accuracy and completeness. • Experience processing invoices and maintaining organized financial documentation. • Solid numerical aptitude and the ability to identify and resolve routine discrepancies. • Good organizational and time management skills in a fast-paced work environment.
