This school-based contract role is ideal for an LPN who thrives in a supportive educational environment and excels in delivering attentive, individualized care.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Minnesota LPN license required
• Active CPR/AED certification
• At least 2 years’ experience in pediatric, school, or home health nursing
• Demonstrated proficiency with tracheostomy care and suctioning
• Strong documentation abilities and attention to detail
• Willingness and physical ability to accompany a student on the school bus, ensuring safe transportation to and from school
• Compassionate and patient-centered mindset, especially with students who have complex medical or developmental needs

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 care for a 7th grade student, acting as their dedicated nurse throughout the school day
• Administer trach care and suctioning per individualized healthcare plan
• Maintain detailed records of all nursing care, interventions, and health observations daily
• Collaborate with health services, teachers, and the student’s family to support academic and health goals
• Follow school day schedule: 37.5 hours per week, in sync with the academic calendar
• Ensure student’s medical needs are met during transportation by riding the school bus as assigned
