This contract opportunity is ideal for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) who brings expertise in pediatric nursing and a passion for supporting learners with complex health needs. You’ll be working close to Andover, MN, engaging with a 7th grade student needing tracheostomy care, and ensuring they thrive and participate alongside their peers.
What You'll Bring:
- Valid Minnesota LPN license
- Active CPR/AED certification
- At least 2 years’ experience in pediatric, home health, or school-based nursing
- Skilled in tracheostomy care and suctioning
- Ability to follow and document individualized healthcare plans
- Comfort providing attentive, compassionate care for students with complex medical/developmental needs
- Willingness to ride the school bus with the student as part of their transportation routine
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver 1:1 nursing care and supervision throughout the school day
- Monitor, manage, and document all tracheostomy care and suctioning as needed
- Consistently uphold and record care procedures per the student’s personalized healthcare plan
- Foster seamless communication with the Health Services team, educators, and the student's family
- Maintain rigorous daily documentation of care, interventions, and health observations
- Support the student’s safe participation by collaborating within a multidisciplinary school setting
This assignment is set to begin in early September and run through early June, aligning with the school calendar for a steady, full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week.
