Technical Sales Operations Specialist

Location: Charlotte, NC – Hybrid/Onsite
Employment Type: Direct Hire | Full-Time

A growing organization in Charlotte is seeking a Technical Sales Operations Specialist to support its B2B sales and customer operations team. This position combines technical sales support, Salesforce/CRM management, quoting, order processing, and customer service .

The ideal candidate is comfortable working directly with customers while also managing the systems and operational details behind the sales process. This person will help understand customer requirements, prepare quotes, create and maintain opportunities in Salesforce, enter and track orders, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure customer requests are completed accurately and on time.

• Serve as a key point of contact for B2B customers via phone, email, and web inquiries

• Work with customers to understand product requirements and recommend appropriate technical solutions

• Create and maintain customer accounts, opportunities, quotes, orders, and sales activity within Salesforce

• Enter, process, and track customer orders through completion

• Prepare customer quotes, proposals, pricing, and supporting sales documentation

• Maintain accurate customer, product, order, and opportunity information within CRM and ERP systems

• Follow up on open quotes, opportunities, orders, and customer requests

• Coordinate with Sales, Operations, Service, and other internal teams to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment

• Assist customers with product questions, order updates, technical information, and issue resolution

• Troubleshoot order, system, and customer issues and coordinate with the appropriate internal teams

• Process returns and RMAs and ensure accurate documentation

• Support Salesforce workflows, data accuracy, reporting, and overall CRM best practices

• Identify opportunities to improve sales processes, CRM usage, and order management workflows

• Research prospective accounts and identify potential customers and key decision-makers

• Support outbound sales activities and new business development efforts

• Assist with trade shows, customer events, and marketing initiatives as needed

• 3–5+ years of experience in technical sales support, sales operations, order management, customer operations, inside sales, or a similar B2B environment

• Hands-on experience working within Salesforce. 

• Experience creating or managing customer accounts, opportunities, quotes, and/or orders within a CRM

• Experience with ERP or order management systems , preferably SAP or a similar platform

• Experience entering, processing, and tracking customer orders

• Ability to understand technical products, specifications, configurations, and customer requirements

• Strong customer-facing communication and problem-solving skills

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple orders, opportunities, and customer requests simultaneously

• Comfortable working across Sales, Operations, Service, and other internal departments

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent relevant professional experience will also be considered

Experience supporting or selling products within technical, industrial, electrical, electronics, fire protection, safety systems, manufacturing, building systems, automation, telecommunications, or similar B2B environments is a plus.

Experience with Salesforce and SAP is highly desirable.
