The Muddy Root Kava Cafe is looking for a motivated, dependable, and hands-on Store Manager to lead daily operations at our Clearwater location.

We are a growing local business that combines the atmosphere of a premium coffee shop with the social energy of a kava bar. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading a team, building customer relationships, staying organized, and taking ownership of a busy hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

As Store Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the Clearwater location and helping ensure the store is clean, organized, profitable, and welcoming.

Responsibilities include:

Team Leadership and Accountability
Lead, coach, and support staff during daily operations. Keep employees focused on customer service, sales goals, cleaning duties, and required procedures. Address performance issues professionally and promptly.

Scheduling and Staffing
Create and manage employee schedules, ensure proper coverage for all shifts, and handle immediate staffing needs when they arise. Maintain a reliable team and help reduce unnecessary turnover.

Customer Experience
Create a welcoming, friendly, and social environment for guests. Handle customer feedback, resolve issues, and ensure customers consistently receive excellent service.

Inventory and Stock Management
Track inventory levels, place orders, receive deliveries, organize supplies, and minimize waste. Ensure products are stocked and ready for daily service.

Product Knowledge and Training
Become fully knowledgeable about all products, including coffee, tea, kava, kratom, matcha, ingredients, preparation methods, pricing, and daily procedures. Train staff to follow standards consistently.

Sales and Store Performance
Help drive sales by keeping the team engaged, encouraging great service, supporting promotions, and identifying opportunities for improvement.

Cleanliness and Daily Operations
Ensure the store, bar area, restrooms, seating areas, and back-of-house spaces are clean, organized, and properly maintained. Make sure opening, closing, and shift duties are completed correctly.

Cash Handling and Register Oversight
Oversee register use, cash handling, cash movements, and basic reporting procedures with accuracy and accountability.

Events and Community Engagement
Help plan, schedule, promote, and oversee weekly or monthly events that improve customer engagement and support store growth.

Operational Improvement
Monitor waste, staffing efficiency, product movement, customer trends, and overall store performance. Communicate issues clearly and help implement solutions.

Ideal Experience

Previous management, shift lead, restaurant, cafe, bar, retail, or hospitality experience is preferred. Experience in coffee, kava, kratom, or beverage service is helpful but not required for the right candidate.
