About Our Client Addison Group is partnering with our client, a mission‑driven K–8 public charter school in Washington, DC, to identify an experienced Dean of School Culture. Job Description The Dean of School Culture will lead initiatives that promote a positive, structured, and supportive school environment. This individual will oversee student behavior systems, restorative practices, attendance initiatives, and culture‑building efforts while partnering closely with teachers, administrators, students, and families. The ideal candidate is an experienced educator with a coaching mindset who thrives in a collaborative, student‑centered environment and enjoys developing both students and staff. Key Responsibilities Lead and enhance school‑wide culture initiatives that promote a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment. Develop, implement, and continuously improve behavior management systems and restorative practices. Coach and mentor teachers on effective classroom management, student engagement, and behavior support strategies. Build strong partnerships with students, families, and staff to encourage positive communication and collaboration. Support students through conflict resolution, behavior interventions, and individualized support plans. Monitor attendance, behavior trends, and school climate data to identify opportunities for improvement and guide decision‑making. Coordinate student recognition programs, incentives, and school‑wide celebrations that reinforce positive behaviors. Maintain a visible presence throughout the school day during arrivals, dismissals, transitions, lunch, and other student activities. Collaborate with school leadership to develop procedures that promote safety, consistency, and student success. Assist with school‑wide events, operational planning, and additional leadership responsibilities as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field strongly preferred. Minimum of five years of teaching experience and/or educational leadership experience. Demonstrated experience with student behavior management, restorative practices, and school culture initiatives. Strong leadership, coaching, and staff development skills. Ability to build meaningful relationships with students, families, and colleagues. Experience analyzing data to improve student outcomes and school climate. Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent communication, organization, and problem‑solving abilities. Bilingual Spanish skills are highly preferred. Experience within charter schools, nonprofit organizations, or mission‑driven educational environments is a plus.
