Previous park maintenance experience is helpful but not required. You'll also have opportunities to learn new skills, operate equipment, and grow your career within Parks Maintenance.What you'll doPerform general grounds maintenance to keep outdoor areas clean, safe, and well-keptOperate landscaping tools and equipment safely and effectivelyAssist with minor repairs or upkeep of outdoor facilities and walkwaysPlant flowers, shrubs, and seasonal vegetationPrune trees, shrubs, and other vegetation to maintain healthy growth and appearanceWeed flower beds, garden areas, and landscaped areasWater plants, lawns, and other vegetation as neededWhat you bringPositive attitude and willingness to learnDependability and pride in producing quality workSafety-first, team-oriented mindsetAbility to work outdoors in varied weather conditionsCommitment to serving the communityMinimum qualificationsValid driver's license with a good driving recordPreferred, but not requiredExperience in parks, landscaping, or grounds maintenanceClass A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brakes and tanker endorsementsSchedule & work environmentTypical schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PMEmployees may be required to work evenings and/or weekends during peak periods, emergency operations, and other eventsWork is performed outdoors in all weather conditionsThis is a physically active, hands-on role with a team that relies on each other every dayPay & benefitsStarting rate of pay: $22.06 - $25.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experienceInsurance benefits: Coverage begins on the first day of the month following hirePaid time off: vacation, sick, and personal leave plus holidaysRetirement options: Kansas Public Employees Retirement System (KPERS) and 457(b) optionsApply by August 31, 2026Monday - Friday, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM
