Every repair, project, and improvement helps us continue our mission of Doing the Most Good®.Why You'll Love This RoleConsistent Monday-Friday schedule No overnight shifts Mission-driven nonprofit organization Variety of work locations and responsibilities Opportunities to learn and grow maintenance skills Competitive benefits package Meaningful work that impacts lives every dayWhat You'll DoFacility Maintenance & RepairsPerform general building maintenance and repairs, including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and HVAC supportComplete preventative maintenance tasks to ensure facilities remain safe and functionalMaintain flooring through cleaning, buffing, and upkeepRespond to maintenance requests across multiple Salvation Army locationsGrounds & Property CarePerform lawn care, landscaping, mowing, and grounds maintenanceAssist with snow and ice removal during winter monthsHelp maintain safe and welcoming exterior properties year-roundOperational SupportMove furniture, equipment, fixtures, and donated materials as neededAssist with room setups and teardowns for programs, events, and operational needsEscort and assist vendors and contractors while on-siteDrive Salvation Army vehicles to transport supplies and materials between locationsOther DutiesSupport special projects and facility improvement initiativesPerform additional maintenance-related duties as assignedQualificationsRequiredHigh school diploma or GED equivalentMinimum of 1 year of maintenance experienceValid driver's licenseAbility to obtain and maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)Preferred SkillsBasic plumbing knowledgeBasic electrical repair experiencePainting and drywall repair skillsExperience using hand and power toolsFamiliarity with lawn and snow removal equipmentPhysical RequirementsThis is an active, hands-on position requiring the ability to:Stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb regularlyLift and carry up to 50 pounds frequentlyLift up to 100 pounds occasionallyWork both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditionsTravel between local Salvation Army properties as neededTravel RequirementsRegular travel between local Salvation Army facilities is required.
