PositionSummary The SafetySpecialist worksunderthedirectionoftheRegionalSafetyManagerinpartnershipwithourprojectteammemberstoprovidetechnicalassistanceandsupportforspecificprojectstomaintainsafetyregulations,policies,andprotocolsrelatedtothecontrolofenvironmentaland/oroccupationalhazards.Theengineerwillfocusonproject-specificinspectionsandneeds,whilemonitoringestablishedpoliciesandproceduresforsafepracticeswhenemployeesarefacedwithoccupationalhazards.Lastly,thisindividualwillactasaresourcetojobsitesinmeetingtheCompany’sexpectationsasoutlinedintheCompanySafety&HealthManual. PositionDescription Plans,administers,implements,andcoordinatesthecompany’ssafetyprogramstocontrolrisksandlosses. Preparesandconductssafetyorientations,trainings,andmeetings. Responsibleforcompliancewithrequiredtrainingprogramsandrecordkeeping. Coaches’employeestomeettheexpectationswithregardtothecompanysafetyprogram. Assistintheadministrationandenforcementofthecompany'ssubstanceabuseprogram(drug&alcoholpolicy). Maintainsliaisonwithoutsideorganizationstoassureinformationexchangeandmutualassistance. Conductsanddocumentssafetyinspectionstoensurecompliancewiththecompany’ssafety&healthprogram. Assistprojectteamsinsafetymanagementandconfirmcompliancewithoursafetyrequirements. Attendpre-constructionmeetings. Attendsconferences,seminars,andcoursestomaintaincontinuedawarenessofsafetyprograms. Understandsandinterpretslocal,state,andfederalregulationsandstatutesrelativetoenvironmentalsafety,employeesafety,andworkers’compensationtoensurethecompanyiscompliant. Assisttheregioninperformingrootcauseanalysisforincidentsandaccidents. Conductsinspectionsandenforcesadherencetolaws,regulations,orcompanypoliciesgoverningworkerhealthandsafety. Inspectsmachinery,equipment,andworkingconditionsatconstructionsitestoensurecompliancewithoccupationalsafetyandhealthregulations,otherstateandfederalregulationsgoverningtheconstructionindustry,and/orcompanypracticesandprocedures. Assistsinrehabilitationofworkersafteraccidents/injuriesandmakessuretheyreturntoworksuccessfully. Participatesinincidentmanagementandinvestigation. Performsotherdutiesasassigned.
