From the first screed pass at daybreak to the final cut and seal, you craft concrete that performs and looks exceptional. As our Concrete Flatwork Finishing Specialist in Canby, OR, you’ll take ownership of placing, shaping, and perfecting surfaces for slabs, sidewalks, driveways, curbs, aprons, and related flatwork.

How your day unfolds

You arrive on site ready to translate pour plans and technical drawings into precise grades and slopes. You coordinate with form setters and ready‑mix suppliers on timing, slump, and pour sequencing. Once the mud hits, you work the surface with the right tools at the right moments—screeds and bull floats early, then hand trowels, edgers, and jointers, and when the slab is ready, walk‑behind or ride‑on trowels for the finish you’ve targeted. You deliver a wide range of textures—from broom and steel trowel to hard‑trowel, exposed aggregate, and stamped patterns—meeting specified surface tolerances throughout.

What you’ll take on

• Prepare, clean, and set up placement areas; verify alignment, elevation, and level prior to pour.
• Mix, pour, place, and spread concrete in line with project specifications and schedules.
• Place, level, and finish concrete using screeds, bull floats, hand trowels, edgers, jointers, and walk‑behind or ride‑on trowels.
• Produce specified finishes: broom, steel trowel, hard‑trowel, exposed aggregate, and stamped textures.
• Set and confirm grades, slope/pitch, and tolerances; interpret and execute pour plans and technical drawings.
• Protect and strengthen surfaces with curing methods, sealers, hardeners, and other treatments.
• Perform saw cutting, patching, and repairs; address cold joints, edges, and imperfections.
• Coordinate seamlessly with form setters and ready‑mix suppliers on logistics and sequencing.
• Inspect finished work and fine‑tune as needed to achieve quality standards.
• Maintain tools and equipment; keep a safe, orderly work area and follow all safety protocols.
• Collaborate with the crew to meet timelines and project goals.
• Train and mentor apprentices or laborers; contribute positively to crew culture.

What you bring

• Proven experience as a concrete finisher or closely related role.
• Deep knowledge of finishing techniques, tools, and equipment.
• Ability to read/interpret blueprints, pour plans, and technical drawings.
• High physical stamina; comfortable with manual work in varied weather.
• Meticulous attention to detail and pride in durable, high‑quality workmanship.
• Clear communication skills and a team‑first mindset.
• Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
