The Supply Chain Category Manager position is responsible for day-to-day supply chain activities, including procurement, production planning, demand forecasting, inventory control, and performance tracking to ensure efficient and effective execution of business activities.

Responsibilities:

• Manage operations both directly and indirectly according to established standard operating procedures and best practices
• Manage inventory levels to maintain product availability while minimizing excess stock
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) of inventory turnover, fill rates, and on-time delivery performance
• Monitor demand forecasting and production planning processes to support efficient operations and service reliability
• Provide leadership and oversight to subordinates and coordinators, ensuring clear direction, performance management, and accountability
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, and customers
• Negotiate contracts and service agreements with suppliers and customers
• Identify, evaluate and implement cost-saving initiatives to improve overall operational efficiency and profitability
• Manage the departmental P&L for overall financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and maintaining accurate financial reporting and control
• Participate in continuous improvement to reduce costs and enhance service levels
• Evaluate the results of overall operations regularly and report these results to the senior management
• Work with other principals to resolve business issues that may occur
• Manage and analyze price changes
• Oversee pricing strategy for new product introductions or category extensions
• Review and troubleshoot Vendor Managed Demand Chain Inventory (VMDCI) processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
• Manage product registration compliance including pricing and product changes to ensure timely review, approval and communication throughout the demand chain
• Monitor logistics operations to maintain service levels and identify opportunities for performance improvement based on KPI targets
• Prepare and monitor credit application process
• Participate in supplier and customer meetings to support business objectives and maintain strong business partnerships
• Assist in the preparation, development, and distribution of internal and external reports to support operational and business requirements
• Address and resolve quality control and quality assurance issues to ensure compliance with company standards and customer expectations.
• Additional duties may be assigned by management to meet operational needs

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in business, supply chain management, or logistics is required
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in an operations environment, including at least 10 years in a management role with direct supervisory responsibility.
• Strong leadership and the ability to collaborate effectively with management to support decision-making and operational planning
• Experience of providing services to companies involved in buying and marketing, particularly in the retail industry
• Procurement background in Wholesale, Grocery Distribution, and Retailer Distribution
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business publications, professional journals, and technical procedures and to produce comprehensive reports, business correspondence, and operational manuals
• Extensive experience and skill in office productivity tools, such as Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Project
• SAP knowledge is a plus
