Quick Facts: Location: North Adams, MA Start Date: 11/30/2026 Duration: Ongoing / as needed Shift: Night shifts (12-hour, 8-hour, 11-hour options available) Hours per Week: Varies per schedule Employment Type: Locum / Temporary Licenses/Certifications: Active MA Medical License, Board Certified in Emergency Medicine Experience: Prior emergency department experience required Pay & Benefits: Hourly Pay Rate: $327.60/hr Benefits: Competitive pay packages Weekly pay schedule via direct deposit Comprehensive medical benefits (W-2) Robust referral bonus program Paid sick time in accordance with all applicable state, federal, and local laws Licensure, certification, travel, and other reimbursements when applicable 24/7 dedicated team committed to your success with VHS What You’ll Do: Provide emergency medical care to a diverse patient population in a busy trauma level 3 ED Manage a variety of urgent and acute cases independently and collaboratively Work closely with hospital staff, including APPs and hospitalists, to ensure quality patient care Respond to emergency codes and coordinate patient transfers as needed Monitor paramedic communications and oversee ambulance arrivals Document patient encounters efficiently using the Meditech EMR system Participate in required response times for on-call physicians (30-minute response required) Contribute to a team environment focused on patient safety and quality care What You Need: Active Massachusetts Medical License Board Certified in Emergency Medicine Minimum of 2+ years of ED experience preferred Strong clinical skills in trauma, high-acuity cases, and trauma center protocols Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment Ability to respond promptly to emergency situations and adhere to hospital bylaws About the Assignment: Join a leading facility in North Adams, Massachusetts, where you'll work at a reputable hospital with a Level 3 Trauma designation and a busy ED serving approximately 55,000 annual visits.
