Job Description
Exciting Opportunity for ICU RNs: Join Our Night Shift Team!

Job Description:


- Shift: 12-Hour Nights
- Unit: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
- Patient Capacity: 33 beds; average daily census of 16


- Nurse-to-Patient Ratios:
- 1:2-3 for adults


- Common Patient Cases:
- Trauma
- Cardiac issues
- Overdose/substance abuse
- Adult sepsis
- Post-stent and pacemaker placement
- Stroke
- Vascular cases
- Renal failure
- Heart failure
- Respiratory distress


- Responsibilities:
- Titrate drips including any cardiac drip, insulin, and sedation
- Use of advanced RT equipment for patient care
- Read, interpret, and document telemetry strips


- Support Staff:
- Nurse aides available based on census
- Healthcare Support Tech available M-F 0800-1630

- Shift Details:
- Scheduled 0630-1830 or 1830-0630
- Self-scheduling for core staff; travelers will be integrated
- Minimum of every other weekend commitment
- 1 shift of unit/department specific orientation

- Additional Requirements:
- RN should possess BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Must comply with fingernail policy (No artificial nails)
- Must arrive within 30 minutes if called back in from on-call status
- RTO (Request Time Off) must be communicated upfront (7 days or less per 13-week contract)


- Floating Expectations:
- May float to PCU or occasionally MedSurg; same patient ratios apply (1:4 or 1:5)


- Charting System: EPIC
