Property Accountant

A growing real estate/property management company is seeking a Property Accountant to join its accounting team. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with 2–3 years of experience looking to build their career within the real estate industry. The Property Accountant will support day-to‑day accounting operations for a portfolio of commercial and/or residential properties. Responsibilities Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and month‑end close activities Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliations Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements and variance analysis Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable related to assigned properties Maintain tenant ledgers, rent rolls, and assist with billing/cash applications Support budgeting and forecasting processes Work closely with property managers regarding financial reporting and operating expenses Assist with audit requests and supporting schedules Ensure accounting records are maintained in accordance with GAAP Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 2–3 years of accounting experience, ideally within real estate or property management Understanding of month‑end close and general ledger accounting Experience with Yardi, MRI, or similar property management/accounting software preferred Strong Excel skills including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables Strong communication skills and attention to detail Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple priorities Preferred Exposure to CAM reconciliations, tenant billing, or lease accounting CPA track or advanced accounting coursework is a plus Compensation; $80,000-95,000 Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job‑related qualifications. #J-18808-Ljbffr
