Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Linguist III to contribute to the development of language components for various voice-enabled technologies and products. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in linguistic data analysis and language technology, with experience in managing data collection, LLM-powered data synthesis, data annotation tasks, prompt engineering, rule-based classifier encoding, and quality evaluations.

Responsibilities:

• Provide linguistic expertise while delivering data for large language models.
• Collaborate with other linguists and data operations teams in data collection, curation, and annotation efforts.
• Evaluate and curate data sets for ML models using LLM solutions.
• Assess model performance and data quality.
• Perform prompt engineering tasks.
• Create guidelines to support labeling projects, ensuring annotators consistently label language data with quality.
• Collaboratively develop complex and consistent linguistic analyses.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in General Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, or a related field.
• Experience with regular expression encoding.
• Knowledge of syntax, semantics, pragmatics, sociolinguistics, corpus linguistics, and other areas of linguistics.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Experience with database queries and data analysis processes (e.g., SQL, spreadsheets).
• Experience working with speech and text data.
• Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering, and their applications.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, and dynamic work environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's or PhD in Linguistics, Language Technologies, Computational Linguistics, or a related field.
• Experience with machine learning frameworks, NLP libraries, and tools.
• 4-5+ years of experience working in a Linguist role.
• Experience with conversational assistants, ML support, and LLMs.

Pay Range: $45 - $50/hour on W2
