Adjudicator Job Description Responsibilities Ensure due process to employers and claimants per OESC Act and USDOL guidelines. Conduct fact‑finding with claimants and employers via phone, mail, and e‑mail to gather information needed to issue non‑monetary decisions that meet benefits, timeliness, and quality measures. Identify and add potential issues when deemed necessary for the adjudication process (or release them). Enter claimant overpayments; ensure complete documentation in file for appeal process. Attend to completion and accuracy of all data entry into the computer system and to the Claim Record Card of each file; write non‑monetary determinations clearly. Follow OESC safety/security protocols. Participate in required Division training regimen. Provide on‑site attendance to interact with staff, clients, and on‑site office resources. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of current economic and social problems, human relations, community and social service providers, principles of interviewing, social assistance requirements, applicable laws and regulations, one‑stop workforce initiatives, U.S. Department of Labor policies, Oklahoma public employment service laws, unemployment compensation, job training, and social services programs. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to express ideas clearly and concisely. Ability to deal effectively and courteously with people, exercise good judgment evaluating eligibility requirements, manage case situations, interpret state and federal laws, understand economic trends and social services, anticipate and resolve problems, prepare reports, analyze complex situations, perform independent work, and make independent decisions. Physical Demands Work is typically performed in an office environment with climate‑controlled settings. Requires talking, standing, bending, walking, and reaching with hands and arms; use of computer and phone; occasional use of office machinery under safety protocols. Minimum Qualifications Five years of experience in employment services, career or vocational guidance, counseling, personnel, recruitment, training, customer services, or related social services work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience substituting thirty semester hours from an accredited college or university for three years of required work experience. Special Skills/Requirements Proficient use of OESC's standard software (Microsoft Office—Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, Teams) and internet; ability to learn other software as needed.
