Senior Financial Analyst

Overview:Capitol Broadcasting Company is seeking a full-time Senior Financial Analyst for Corporate FP&A. The Senior Financial Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the financial planning, analysis, and reporting functions for Corporate FP&A - including monthly close, consolidated reporting, forecast and budget cycles, and the operating model that supports them. This individual serves as a key partner across the Corporate FP&A team and BU finance leaders, providing reliable cycle support, clear and accurate reporting, and the disciplined, repeatable process behind both recurring deliverables and the broader plan.The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and process skills and the ability to run recurring cycles with precision. This role requires a proactive, self-motivated individual who can work independently as well as collaboratively to support the VP Finance, the Corporate FP&A team, and the CFO. A builder at heart, this person reaches for AI first - using tools like Claude to automate recurring analysis, accelerate modeling, and build documented, scalable systems that eliminate manual work and elevate the entire Corporate FP&A function’s capacity.Responsibilities:Financial Analysis: (approx. 40% of time)Support the monthly close and QBR (Quarterly Business Review) packages - P&L and free-cash-flow roll-up, plus supporting schedulesWork with Corporate department leaders to review monthly actuals for their cost centers and capture forecast adjustmentsPartner with Accounting on accruals, month-end variances, and adjustments that flow through Corporate resultsMaintain the management reporting suite: dashboards, KPI views, and recurring reporting packagesPrepare close materials for VP Finance and CFO reviewSurface variances and exceptions as part of the close cycle, with cause-of-change commentary vs. budget, forecast, and prior yearFinancial Planning: (approx. 35% of time)Support the monthly forecast cycle end-to-end: data seeding, scenario locks, system load, and reconciliationSupport the annual budget cycle from kickoff through final lock: timeline, Corporate opex build, BU aggregation, and final loadPartner with Corporate department leaders on opex build, assumption validation, and submission supportSupport capex and workforce inputs during the annual budget cycleSupport long-range planning - the 5-year operating model - across Corporate and BU aggregationDocument assumptions and keep them consistent across cyclesOperations & Continuous Improvement (approx. 25% of time)Use PBCS as the day-to-day system of record for forecast, budget, and reporting cycles, and support PBCS and Oracle ERP administrationMaintain reporting tools, templates, and dashboards the broader team can run independentlySupport financial system changes end-to-end - testing,validating outputs, and documenting the new process for the teamPrototype and deploy AI-assisted automations across the close, forecast, and budget cycles, turning manual, repetitive work into documented, repeatable systemsIdentify recurring tasks that can be systematized, consolidated, or automated - continuously raising the floor on what manual work is still requiredProvide ad hoc analysis and support to the VP Finance, CFO, and Corporate leaders, as neededKnowledge & Experience – Demonstrated ability:Hands-on Corporate FP&A cycle mechanics - close, forecast, budget - with a demonstrated ability to build and run the deliverablesStrong analytical and modeling acumen across consolidated financial reporting and planningObsessed with eliminating manual work - builds repeatable, automated, transferable tools and templates, increasingly AI-powered, using LLMs like Claude to automate analysis and accelerate modelingAggregation, manipulation, and reconciliation of large, disparate datasets across multiple entities, divisions, and departmentsAbility to prioritize and manage a portfolio of recurring deliverables across overlapping cycles and various stakeholdersComfortable in PBCS (or equivalent EPM tool) and Excel at an advanced levelTakes end-to-end ownership of recurring deliverables and stands behind their accuracy and timelinessStrong communication skills - able to tell stories with data, surface variances, risks, and exceptions clearly, and drive action and recommend improvements within the finance team and to Corporate partnersSkills – What you can/will learn on the job:Project management aptitude - ability to manage multiple stakeholders and facilitate work being completed on schedulePresentation building for audiences ranging from individual contributors to senior leadershipQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field; MBA is a plusMinimum of 4-7 years of experience in Corporate FP&A roles focused on close, forecast, and budget mechanics at a company with multiple entities, divisions, and departmentsProventrack record of running Corporate cycles reliably and on scheduleAdvanced Excel skills - Power Queries, dynamic tables, arrays, driver-based modelingHands-on operating mentality - owns the mechanics, not just the outputsExperience with financial reporting tools and ERP systems (e.g., PBCS,Smartview, Oracle)Traits:Natural problem-solver · Sense of Urgency · Ownership mentality · Growth mentality · Curious · ProactivePhysical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
