Departmental Overview The Center for Occupational and Environmental Health (COEH) Continuing Education Program provides professional development through a broad spectrum of accredited courses including hands-on training, virtual courses and webinars, and annual symposia. The program draws on expertise from faculty within the Center and also utilizes locally, regionally, and nationally prominent guest instructors. We're committed to providing professional education to serve the occupational health needs of workers and employers, to advancing occupational health equity, and to promoting environmental health where people live and work. The Continuing Education program is part of the Northern California COEH, based at the University of California, Berkeley, with additional academic programs at UC San Francisco and UC Davis. COEH and its sister centers in Los Angeles and Irvine serve government, industry, schools, health professionals, and the general public through programs and partnerships designed to deepen understanding of occupational and environmental hazards and to prevent disease, fatalities, and injuries. Activities are grounded in multi-campus, multidisciplinary teaching programs in medicine, nursing, public health, and related fields which educate future leaders in occupational and environmental health, develop new knowledge, and bring the resources of the University of California to the public. Berkeley Public Health (BPH) aims to improve population health, especially for the most vulnerable, through interdisciplinary collaborations, preeminent education, and transformational research. Established in 1943, BPH is a professional school on the UC Berkeley campus that comprises six academic divisions and nearly 30 research centers and programs. Position Summary The Continuing Education Coordinator works closely with the Director of Continuing Education to support the development and delivery of CE's many educational offerings. This position will provide planning and logistical support for in-person and online training programs and webinars. Responsibilities include communication with learners, stakeholders, and instructors; compliance with continuing education accreditation requirements; purchasing and reconciliation of program revenue; gathering, summarizing, and reporting learner data; and researching, evaluating, and summarizing learner evaluation and industry data to identify educational needs.

Responsibilities
Program Planning and Development (40%)
- Coordinates program planning and development in collaboration with program / project staff.
- Tasks may include educational needs assessment, instructor and learner recruitment, training outreach and marketing, learner registration, attendance tracking, on-site set-up and logistical support, purchasing and reconciliation of program revenue, survey creation, and summarizing post-training evaluation and metrics.
Data Analysis and Reporting (15%)
- Gathers and assembles analytical and factual data on assigned problems and issues including learner registration, attendance, and program evaluation metrics; speaker qualifications and conflict of interest disclosures; and ongoing educational needs to support program objectives.
- Summarizes information and prepares reports on the assigned issues for internal and external constituents.
Policy, Research, and Program Analysis (15%)
- On a project basis, performs analyses on a variety of policies, research initiatives, programs and issues, and other subjects to contribute to organizational programs, research proposals, and other documentation.
- This may include emerging regulations or legislation of importance to the occupational and environmental health and safety community, requirements to maintain accreditation compliance with agencies including the California Medical Association, funding proposals, and other topics as needed for continuous improvement of CE programming.
Documentation and Reporting (10%)
- Prepares, edits and modifies documents including research reports, manuscripts, grant applications, presentations and proposals.
- Summarizes information available on assigned issues, and identifies other matters of significance.
- Report examples include annual impact reports, progress reports and accomplishment summaries, funding proposals, and reporting for maintenance of accreditation.
Stakeholder Coordination (5%)
- Using subject matter knowledge, collects and prepares information for use in discussions and meetings of internal and external constituents.
- Coordinates advisory meetings.
- Transports training and event materials between on-campus and off-campus locations as part of on-site set-up and logistical support. Materials may include hands-on equipment, course books/binders, easels, display banners, laptops, projectors, and other program supplies.
Program Recommendations (5%)
- Provides recommendations and guidelines involving programs / initiatives.
Professional Development (5%)
- Participates in workshops, training, and other professional development opportunities.
Other (5%)
- Other duties, as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Proficient in program and project management.
- Proficient in communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Working knowledge of and/or ability to quickly learn common computer application programs, skills to learn organization-specific programs.
- Demonstrates ability to analyze, research and synthesize large amounts of data with strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrates ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.

- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The budgeted annual salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $33.50/hr - $38.50/hr.- This is a non-exempt, bi-weekly paid position.
- This is a full-time Career position eligible for full UC benefits.
- The position is budgeted at 80% - 100% FTE (approximately 32 - 40 hours/week).

- Travel Required: Approximately 5% for on-site course support and exhibiting at conferences.
