Job Overview The Manager, Human Resources Agency at Texas A&M University (Human Resources Department) directs all HR functions, establishing schedules, priorities, and standards to support the university’s organizational goals. Responsibilities Plan, oversee, and direct all human resources activities and the HR unit. Develop schedules, priorities, and strategic plans for the HR unit. Provide guidance to departments and leadership on HR practices, compliance, laws, regulations, and ethics. Communicate HR programs, policies, and practices to employees and HR leaders. Ensure compliance with state and federal laws and university policies. Oversee and manage specialized training programs and training materials. Approve actions in the HRIS system and related software. Resolve and troubleshoot escalated and complex HR issues. Advise management on operating plans and policies for human resource activities. Develop and revise guidelines, policies, regulations, rules, and standard administrative procedures. Conduct audits of HR functions to ensure policy compliance. Research and complete projects as requested by HR leadership. Partner with managers to identify HR needs and improvement opportunities. Prepare reports and documents related to HR activities. Recruit, hire, train, supervise, evaluate performance, and develop professional development plans for assigned staff. Collaborate with international services, faculty affairs, student employment, graduate professional school, research, payroll, and tax on complex questions. Develop and maintain a professional network of internal and external contacts. Oversee and manage specialized HR events and programs. Serve as a backup manager for other specialized HR functions. Attend HR trainings and informational meetings. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Seven (7) years of human resources related experience. Strong supervisory, organizational, and analytical skills. Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet applications. Knowledge of HR concepts, principles, and practices. Knowledge of state and federal policy in the assigned HR specialty area. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work with a wide range of personalities and maintain confidentiality. Ability to multitask, work cooperatively, and communicate with leaders. Position is security sensitive and requires compliance with state and federal laws/codes and Texas A&M University System policies, regulations, and procedures. All tasks must be performed safely in accordance with university safety requirements. Compensation Salary commensurate with selected hire’s experience.
