We are growing rapidly and looking for high performers at every level to grow with us.POSITION SUMMARY:The Swim Instructor is responsible for conducting swim lessons for both group and one-on-one private swim lessons. Lessons are conducted in the morning hours and may also be offered in the evening.The Swim Instructor is responsible for instructing and developing athletes. This role involves designing and implementing training programs, providing instruction and feedback, and fostering a positive and competitive environment for athletes.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:Teaching relevant skills, tactics, and techniques to a wide range of athletes, individuals, and groupsInstruct and coach children while they engage in group and individual sports activitiesPrepare and lead a variety of activities that are age-appropriateMonitoring, evaluating, and enhancing participant performance and needsProviding suitable feedback via positivity, encouragement, example, and motivationDemonstrating an activity clearly by breaking down the task or technique into a sequenceFriendly and courteous with participants and team membersIdentifying athlete strengths and areas for developmentEnsuring a safe environment for all participants to avoid accidents or injuriesPrepare and sign all certificates and course record sheetsImplementing the lesson plans in an accurate, creative, positive, and efficient fashionEnsure proper use and care of pool equipment and teaching aidsReport any maintenance or safety issues to managementAll additional duties assigned by managementTHE IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS:American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) American Red Cross Lifeguard and First Aid, CRP/AED CertifiedExperience and success in customer service, leadership, and team buildingAction-oriented personality with a 'get it done' attitude and proficiency for efficiencyMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:2-3 years' experience of swim lessons instruction is preferredStrong swimming ability and knowledge of different swimming techniquesMust have excellent interpersonal, problem solving and communication skillsMust be a team playerMust have excellent leadership and motivational skillsMust be detail-oriented and have outstanding organizational skillsMust be willing to work a flexible schedule, predominately after-school and weekendsAbility to maintain focus in a high-volume, fast paced environmentMust be at least 18 years of ageWORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Must be able to lift 50 pounds waist highMay be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time whether indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop, or bendWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee may work in direct sunlight and be exposed to outside weather conditionsMay be exposed to hot, wet, and humid conditions
