Part Time Meat Clerk

Responsibilities Process, package, and stock meat products in accordance with Meat Standards. Clean work areas and maintain a safe, organized work environment. Provide customer service while unloading stock, reloading salvage, and performing duties of a seafood clerk when assigned. Qualifications Minimum age: 18 years. High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English; write simple correspondence; present information to customers, vendors, and associates in one‑on‑one and small group settings. Mathematical skills: add and subtract two‑digit numbers and perform operations using U.S. currency and weight measurements. Reasoning ability: apply common sense to follow detailed written or oral instructions and solve problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Personal skills: exceptional interpersonal skills and willingness to participate in required training and teamwork to increase customer satisfaction and sales. Certificates, licenses, and registrations: complete company training including new hire orientation, food sanitation, customer service, safety, food safety, and product knowledge. Physical Demands Stand, walk, use hands for tasks requiring fingers and hands, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, and taste or smell. Occasionally climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds and reach from 6 to 72 inches; frequently lift and move up to 100 pounds and reach from 6 to 72 inches. Visual requirements include close vision, color, and depth perception. Work Environment Work in a cool environment with an average temperature of 34–36°F, frequently exposed to wet, humid, or moving mechanical conditions. Occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and extreme cold. Noise level usually moderate to loud.
