Competitive Compensation package 100% Employer funded pension Collaborative culture Remote flexibility Job Details Key Responsibilities Manage all phases of complex commercial litigation in state and federal courts. Draft pleadings, dispositive motions, briefs, and other substantive legal filings. Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategies. Prepare and respond to written discovery, oversee e-discovery, and take and defend depositions. Represent clients in court appearances, hearings, mediations, and other litigation proceedings. Seeking experience with breach of contract, shareholder disputes, and construction related cases. An ideal hire for our intended role would be someone who can independently manage pleadings/discovery, draft and argue dispositive or important motions, handle employment/business disputes without a steep learning curve, and communicate well with sophisticated business clients. Target Profile Active Illinois license Meaningful experience in commercial litigation/business disputes Demonstrated exposure to employment litigation or at least workplace-adjacent disputes; Strong written-motion practice; Enough court exposure to handle hearings, discovery disputes, and case management with limited supervision; and Some trial/ADR background so the person can credibly own files, not just draft research memos. Bonus: federal admission in the Northern District of Illinois and experience in a practice setting that regularly handles business disputes rather than purely consumer plaintiff work.
