CLAS Information Services is looking for a detail-oriented and self-motivated General Accounting Clerk to join a small team. This role serves as the primary point of contact for internal clients and supports various accounting functions including accounts receivable, payment processing, billing inquiries, and collections assistance. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills and collaborate across departments to resolve invoice and payment issues. Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Dynamics GP, and custom in-house systems is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist in day-to-day Accounts Receivable operations
- Support service, sales departments, and customers with billing questions
- Field client calls and provide invoice copies as requested
- Coordinate with internal departments to resolve payment and invoice issues
- Provide backup support for Accounts Payable duties
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies
- Furnish accurate and timely accounting transactional information
- Process customer payments including Credit Card, ACH, Wire, and Checks
- Compile and scan payments for bank deposits
- Assist in collections of outstanding invoices
- Process E-billing and special statements for select clients
- Perform data entry and other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of accounting experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with QuickBooks and Dynamics GP
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple requests
- Problem-solving aptitude and teamwork orientation
