Job Details Job Title: Support Specialist (223 days) - School Year 2026-2027 (Anticipated Vacancies) JobID: 7744 Date Posted: 1/12/2026 Reports To: Building Principal Classification: Paraprofessional (Clerical/Teacher Assistant) Wage/Hour Status: Non-exempt Days: 223 Salary: See Compensation Plan for Paraprofessional/Administrative Support Staff, Pay Grade 204 Contract: None Date Revised: 11/15/2023 Primary Purpose: Responsible for performing receptionist and clerical duties as related to the office of the building principal. Qualifications & Skills Education/Certification: High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum Assessment Standard: Broad knowledge of MS Word. Fluent in English and Spanish (verbal and written) preferred. Technology skills in all Microsoft office programs. Strong time management skills. Ability to operate various office equipment (copier/fax machine). Effective communication skills with staff, students and parents. Ability to work with people effectively. Human relation skills. Ability to exercise good judgement in performing responsibilities. Experience: Previous office experience preferred. Major Duties and Responsibilities Communication/Reception and Phones: Interact with and provide assistance to teachers, students, parents, school and district personnel. Assist in scheduling appointments, meetings and conferences. Answer telephone, record, direct and deliver messages. Clerical Support: Perform necessary computer skills as needed by principal (i.e. word processing, database, graphics, spreadsheets and data entry). Assist with class scheduling. Prepare and maintain records, if necessary. Other: Participate in cross‑training. Perform other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities None Equipment Used Computer and various office equipment. Working Conditions Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress. Work with frequent interruptions. This position requires regular in‑person interaction with the public. Physical Demands: Repetitive hand motions. Prolonged use of the computer. Frequent sitting, stooping, bending, pushing and pulling. Moving small stacks of textbooks, boxes, equipment and other campus equipment.
