Outpatient Clinic Hematology Oncology Registered Nurse

We are seeking a dedicated Outpatient Clinic Hematology Oncology Registered Nurse to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing peripheral and line blood draws, IV placements, and maintaining chemotherapy treatments. The RN will work with patients diagnosed with hematology malignancies such as multiple myeloma, chronic leukemia, and lymphoma, including pre and post BMT/CART transplant patients. You will handle specialized procedures including blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, insulin and heparin drips, and manage oncologic emergencies such as tumor lysis syndrome and cytokine release syndrome. This role involves patient assessment, line dressing changes, port access, PICC line management, and the administration of blood products. The candidate should also be proficient with computerized charting in EPIC. Experience in oncology is preferred but not required. The staffing ratio goal is 1:4, which may vary to 1:5 based on patient needs.

Schedule & Orientation:

• Orientation: First week Monday through Friday dayshift
• Second week: 36 hours of on-unit orientation with a preceptor
• Self-scheduling requests are accommodated to help balance the weekly schedule

Certifications Required:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• IV therapy/Phlebotomy certification
• Blood product administration
• Central line blood draw
• Peripheral line care/management
• PICC line management

Additional Information:

• No set or blocked schedules are offered for permanent staff
• Weekend shifts are variable based on unit needs
