Office Assistant

The Rowan County Housing Authority is seeking a dependable and professional Part-Time Office Assistant to provide clerical, receptionist, and customer service support for our office.

• Answer phones and direct calls to appropriate staff.
• Greet and assist applicants, tenants, vendors, and visitors.
• Provide general information about Housing Authority programs and services.
• Receive, sort, and distribute mail, applications, and documents.
• Perform data entry, scanning, copying, filing, and records maintenance.
• Assist with preparing letters, forms, notices, applications, and meeting materials.
• Accept and record rental payments and issue receipts as assigned.
• Provide routine administrative support to staff.
• Maintain confidentiality of applicant, tenant, financial, and Housing Authority information.
• Perform other clerical and office duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous office, clerical, receptionist, or customer service experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Outlook.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate professionally and courteously with the public.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and accurately handle records and information.

Work Schedule

This is a part-time position . Work hours will be established based on the operational needs of the Housing Authority.
