Locum Hematology-Oncology Physician Opportunity

AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center is looking for a locum hematology-oncology physician to provide coverage at both Atlantic City and Galloway, NJ. Inpatient consultative services across two hospitals 10 miles apart. Coverage needed due to growth in outpatient volume and part-time inpatient provider being sick. Dates of coverage: 1 week (7 days Mon-Sun) per month from January through July. Patient population: adult and geriatric. Practice distribution: 49% hematology, 51% oncology. 5.6 physicians in the practice. Radiation oncologist available at EHT Cancer Center for case discussions. 8 APPs providing coverage - Monday to Friday, an inpatient NP will assist the MD with notes, orders, and staff communication. Average outpatient (clinic/office) patient load: 45 per day. Average hospital patient load: 8 per day (5 consults, 3 follow-ups). Clinical areas: oncology and hematology in an inpatient setting. Hospital trauma level: Atlantic City - Level 1. EMR system: Cerner. Required procedures: inpatient consultative services. Estimated credentialing timeframe: 30-90 days.
