Registered Nurse - Night Shift (3x12-Hour)

Schedule

This position requires a night shift schedule, working 3 consecutive 12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care in a complex care unit. The ideal candidate will possess strong telemetric skills and a comprehensive ability to manage various patient needs, including patients in orthopedic overflow and those requiring long-term care. Nurses must have a current New York state license in hand, as this is a strict requirement for submission.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a complex care unit.
• Monitor patients' telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias accurately.
• Manage and care for patients with feeding tubes, IVs, central lines, and PICC lines.
• Administer blood products and follow heparin protocols as required.
• Participate in rapid response and code teams effectively.
• Deliver care for orthopedic trauma, total joint replacements, and manage surgical drains.
• Utilize isolation precautions and wound care protocols, including Wound Vac management.
• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with previous charge experience required.
• Patient ratio experience of 1:5 to 1:7 in a MedSurg environment.
• Current New York state RN license is mandatory.
• Certifications: BLS and valid NIHSS in hand at time of submission.
• Experience with Epic charting system is essential.
• Must be willing to float as needed.
