We believe every ambitious company deserves the same.If you want to build systems that directly shape how companies move and manage billions, Ramp is the place to do it.About the Role As the Product Manager for Tax, you will own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Ramp’s next generation of AI-powered tax products. You will build solutions to automate tax calculation, validation, and filing for our existing suite of products (card, bill pay, banking, etc), for both domestic and international use cases. You’ll also be accountable for **expanding** Stack - our agentic accounting product - into the tax automation domain, to automate the work of CPAs. You’ll partner closely with engineering, design, data, and cross-functional stakeholders (Finance, Legal, Security, CX, Sales) to build intelligent experiences that help customers save money, reduce risk, and eliminate manual work.This role blends AI-native product development (LLM-powered workflows, evaluation systems, human-in-the-loop design) and deep domain expertise in domestic/international tax and CPA’s workflows. You will define and execute a strategy that will unlock new markets for Ramp and help us save our customers even more time and money.Please note that this role requires in-person presence at our NYC or SF office at least 2 days/week.What You’ll DoOwn the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Ramp’s tax products, from foundational tax infrastructure to customer-facing calculation, reporting, and filing experiences.Build tax automation across Ramp’s existing products, including Cards, Bill Pay, Banking, and other financial workflows, for both domestic and international customers.Expand Stack, Ramp’s agentic accounting product, into tax by automating high-value CPA workflows such as data collection, workpaper preparation, review, filing, and client follow-up.Develop a deep understanding of finance teams, tax leaders, accountants, and CPAs, then translate their most painful manual workflows into focused product bets.Partner with engineering and data science to ship AI systems that are reliable in production, with clear evaluation methods, quality metrics, feedback loops, fallbacks, and human-in-the-loop controls.Design for trust in a regulated domain through explainability, auditability, source traceability, graceful degradation, and clear user controls.Translate complex and changing tax rules into scalable product, data, and platform capabilities that can support new geographies, entities, and product lines.Lead high-velocity execution with engineers and designers, balancing product intuition with customer evidence, data, and rapid iteration.Drive cross-functional alignment on dependencies and launch readiness, including Finance, Legal, Security, CX, Sales, compliance review, customer communication, and supportability.What You NeedBA/BS in a technical or analytical field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Analytics, Mathematics, Physics, Applied Sciences, or related).Minimum 5 years of product management or adjacent product-building experience.Strong domain expertise in tax, accounting, or finance, with a practical understanding of how businesses or accounting firms calculate, review, report, and file taxes.Strong product judgment and first-principles thinking across complex workflows, data products, integrations, and user experiences that drive real decisions.AI fluency and passion, demonstrated through hands-on experience building AI features, prototypes, or side projects, plus an understanding of evaluation, retrieval, latency, cost, safety, and accuracy tradeoffs.A track record of building products that require trust, including explainability, auditability, graceful degradation, and clear human controls.Comfort collaborating in technical environments (Figma, Git) and using modern prototyping tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor).Fluency with experimentation and product metrics, plus strong instincts for when qualitative customer discovery is required.Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams with urgency and ownership, set direction, make tradeoffs, and deliver measurable outcomes.Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate between tax experts, technical teams, and non-technical stakeholders.Nice-to-HavesExperience building tax calculation, compliance, reporting, or filing products for businesses, accountants, or tax professionals.Familiarity with one or more tax domains such as sales and use tax, VAT/GST, 1099 filing, etcExperience building AI-powered products used in production, including LLM workflows, agents,
