HOUSTON, TX (77064). The Billing Clerk ensures the accurate and timely creation, review, and distribution of client invoices. This position supports the finance team by maintaining detailed billing records, resolving account discrepancies, and ensuring adherence to internal controls and customer contract terms. Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily and monthly invoicing cycles, including invoice generation, distribution, and purchase order (PO) verification.

• Monitor unbilled shipments/orders to ensure prompt billing and revenue capture.

• Conduct thorough pre-invoicing reviews, verifying documentation such as POs, order confirmations, shipping records, and proofs of delivery to support revenue recognition.

• Upload required supporting documentation into accounting systems for compliance and auditing purposes.

• Manage customer vendor portals (e.g., electronic billing platforms) in accordance with client-specific submission rules.

• Generate and distribute regular operational and billing reports to keep department managers and plant/warehouse personnel informed of pending items.

• Address and resolve billing inquiries and complex escalations from internal departments and external clients.

• Provide dynamic support to the broader Accounts Receivable and Cash Applications teams as needed.

• Work independently to prioritize workload and hit critical daily billing deadlines.

• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and strong quantitative skills.

• Proficiency in ERP accounting software, database tools, and business software (advanced Microsoft Excel and Windows applications).

• Familiarity with internal financial controls and compliance standards (such as SOX).

• Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume invoicing with strong attention to detail.
