Software Engineering Manager - Full Stack/React/AWS

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, with at least 5 years of applied experience and demonstrated coaching and mentoring ability
• Experience managing technology teams and leading technology projects
• Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages or technology stacks, such as React, CSS/HTML, Java, Spring Framework, and AWS
• Proficiency across the Software Development Life Cycle
• In-depth knowledge of financial services and related IT systems
• Practical AWS experience, including services such as EKS, ECS, PostgreSQL, Lambda, and S3
• Proficiency in application, data, and infrastructure architecture
• Experience leading responsible adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and delivery tools across engineering teams, including setting review and validation practices, measuring outcomes, and protecting data
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, resilience, security, and governance, with the ability to coach engineers on compliant and effective use
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies, CI/CD, application resiliency, and security
• Preferred: Practical cloud-native experience and AWS certification
• Preferred: Strong presentation, negotiation, mentoring, and stakeholder management skills
• Preferred: Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication abilities

• Guide software engineers on their daily work and activities
• Set expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration; mentor engineers and partner with application teams to promote best practices in reliability, performance, risk, cybersecurity, and legal and compliance requirements
• Foster a collaborative, trusting environment that welcomes diverse perspectives and creative solutions for customers
• Lead adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices and SDLC/TLM automation to improve delivery speed, quality, and operational outcomes; establish expectations for human validation, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and reuse of consistent patterns
• Use Software Development Life Cycle tools, including authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase automation value and support capacity initiatives
• Develop with Test Driven Development and work in a Continuous Integration environment using a shared codebase
• Design, develop, and troubleshoot creative software solutions, taking unconventional approaches where appropriate to solve technical problems
• Build secure, high-quality production code and review and debug colleagues code
• Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate recurring issue remediation to improve application and system stability
• Lead feature design and development, identify new features, and help shape program strategy and direction
• Prototype and deliver AI-enabled or agentic workflows, including tool-using agents, orchestration patterns, evaluation, and guardrails, and turn stakeholder needs into technical designs
