Job Title: Adult Surgical / Operating Room Technician

Location: Syracuse, NY
Duration: 14 Weeks
Employment Type: Contract
Schedule: Evening shifts; mix of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts

• 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
• 11:00 AM – 11:30 PM
  Hours: 40 hours/week

• Weekly Pay: $1,800 – $2,200 (based on experience)

We are seeking an experienced Surgical/Operating Room Technician to provide scrub support across a variety of surgical procedures in a high-acuity acute care setting. This role requires strong clinical skills, the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and effective collaboration with multidisciplinary surgical teams.

• Provide sterile scrub support for surgical procedures
• Assist surgeons and nursing staff during operations
• Maintain a sterile field and ensure adherence to infection control standards
• Prepare operating rooms, instruments, and surgical equipment
• Handle surgical instruments and supplies efficiently during procedures
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure safe and effective patient care
• Support procedures across multiple specialties including general, orthopedic, trauma, vascular, ENT, and GYN
• Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment

Education:

• Completion of a Surgical Technologist training program

Certifications & Licensure:

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – NBSTSA
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (AHA)

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of recent Operating Room experience (within the last 4 years) in an acute care setting
• Experience in high-acuity or large hospital environments preferred
• Strong scrub experience required
• Experience across multiple specialties, including:
  • General surgery
  • Orthopedics
  • Neurosurgery
  • Trauma
  • Vascular
  • ENT
  • Bariatric
  • GU
  • GYN

• Proficiency in sterile technique and surgical procedures
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Attention to detail and patient safety focus
• Ability to handle complex surgical cases

• No First Assist responsibilities (per state regulations)
• Candidates must have a clean professional record (no license suspension or investigation)
• First-time travelers must have experience in similar-sized or high-acuity facilities

• 14-week contract assignment
• Evening shift role in a fast-paced surgical environment
