Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic

Summary

Duties

• You will review work order requirements reflecting systems parts and assemblies to be repaired modified or installed.
• You will troubleshoot HVAC/R systems with complex problems and extensive repairs requiring judgement to locate malfunctions.
• You will test refrigeration air conditioning ventilation and related control systems and equipment.
• You will perform installation repair and maintenance of large commercial and industrial heating ventilation air conditioning (HVAC) and cooling systems with complex problems and extensive repairs.

• This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

• At time of application the employee is required to possess and maintain at all times a CFC/NCFC Certification (universal) as required by 40 CFR Part 82 Subpart F EPA.
• Position requires the ability to discern colors contrast and depth.
• The employee must be able to safely and properly wear all personal protective equipment including respiratory protection )respirator) required of the trade/shop.
• You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
• Emergency overtime may be required.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: Demonstrating verifiable knowledge of hydronic cooling systems and processes including chillers cooling towers and related equipment.

Additional information

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour including nights weekends and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Certain incentives (such as Recruitment Relocation or Student Loan Repayment) may be authorized to eligible selectees.

A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized.
