Revenue Cycle Analyst

Position Summary Revenue Cycle Analyst In this role, the Analyst will collect, analyze, and report on data using systematic tools to translate data into actionable insights for operations. The Analyst will analyze healthcare information from patient finances and demographic data, prepare materials for staff and management, identify trends, determine root causes, and implement process improvements. Collaboration with cross‑functional departments and teams is essential. Job Responsibilities Perform detailed analysis of payer reimbursement to identify underpayment trends and prepare spreadsheets. Track and maintain third‑party payor spreadsheets to ensure account resolution and keep senior analysts informed. Resolve credit balances by reviewing accounts and following hospital policy to refund or adjust as needed. Analyze payment inconsistencies to identify variances from contract management issues. Coordinate audit activities to submit clear, organized deliverables for meetings. Assist department in evaluating and escalating billing and claims processing inaccuracies to develop upstream solutions. Train other analysts as needed. Use Tableau and Excel to create detailed reports. Develop and maintain programs, methodologies, and files for data analysis and presentation. Maintain databases and conduct strategic analysis for monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad‑hoc requests. Develop hospital reporting, including daily reports, dashboards, and ad‑hoc requests. Monitor KPI goals for Revenue Cycle Operations teams. Identify trends in denial data related to eligibility, benefits, medical necessity, and coordination of benefits. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to reduce denials and patient estimate disputes, and explore revenue opportunities. Collect and analyze data on clearance queues, focusing on aging days and days scheduled. Track and report on Self‑Pay estimate compliance and accuracy rates. Provide analytical support to management for timely insurance verification and customer service. Serve as liaison with internal departments, external partners, and payers to improve revenue cycle operations. Ensure compliance with all policies, including HIPAA. Stay current on industry trends and best practices. Implement operational best practices for eligibility, authorization, estimation, billing, and claims processing. Work independently, take initiative, and think critically to solve complex problems. Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental goals. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree required. 2 years of experience required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products required. Dynamic verbal and written communication skills required. Analytical skills required. Effective communication with all levels of the organization.
