Job Function Finance Job Sub Function Finance Business Partners Job Category People Leader Locations New Brunswick, New Jersey; Raynham, Massachusetts Job Description DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a Senior Manager – Global Payroll and Time and Attendance Process and Vendor Governance located in either New Brunswick, NJ or Raynham, MA. The Senior Manager will oversee payroll and time and attendance processes, vendor governance, risk management, and compliance across the enterprise. The role includes portfolio governance, program management, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement. The candidate will lead global teams and ensure data quality, oversee vendor selection, contract management, audits, user access, training, and resource planning. Key Responsibilities Financial and HR Data Quality Management Influence process and control design to ensure accuracy of employee payment data. Collaborate with HR systems and support data governance efforts. Define Data Ownership Across Functions Establish clear ownership structures for Payroll, Total Rewards, and HR functions. Steady State Project and Portfolio Management Define project portfolio vision, objectives, success criteria. Establish governance framework, prioritization, stage gates, and decision rights. Align portfolio with HR/Finance strategy and regulatory requirements. Manage intake, evaluate proposals (ROI, risk, complexity, strategic fit). Maintain prioritized backlog, monitor progress, manage interdependencies, and resolve risks. Budget, forecast, track costs, align spending with headcount and benefits plans. Track, report, and realize benefits; support audits and controls. Communicate portfolio status to executives and stakeholders. Serve as liaison for executives, HR, Finance, IT, vendors. Oversee vendor selection, contract management, SLAs, performance reviews. Contract Management and Financial Support Monitor financial metrics and compliance; assess vendor performance. Ensure contracts are active and compliant. Steady State Change Management Manage change intake, advisory board, governance process. Vendor Assessments and SOC Reviews Collaborate to conduct vendor assessments and SOC reviews. Complete SOX deliverables, remediate issues. Ensure effective Complementary User Entity Controls. Audit and Advisory Support Coordinate payroll audits, prepare documentation, liaise with audit groups. Process Deep Dives Lead contact with Global Process Team and Country Payroll teams. Conduct analyses of key payroll processes (severance, commissions, transactions). Recommend improvements; lead root cause analysis; develop new controls. Use data to assess training improvement. User Access Management SME Lead identity and access management; ensure appropriate access following IDMS workflow. Training and End User Readiness Develop training content, conduct sessions on payroll and T&A processes. Translate tasks into training materials and knowledge transition deliverables. Resource Planning & Talent Development Allocate resources, balance load, support training and development. Foster collaboration and continuous improvement. Data Governance, Quality & Reporting Maintain data integrity, privacy, security. Create dashboards, KPIs, reports for leadership. Standardize reporting templates. Quality Assurance & Testing Governance Define testing strategies (UAT, data migration validation, integration testing). Process Standardization & Automation Champion standard PMO processes, templates, playbooks. Identify automation and efficiency opportunities. Benefits Tracking & Lessons Learned Capture lessons learned; conduct post-implementation reviews. Key Managerial Areas Strategic Development and Leadership Assist in developing payroll strategy and aligning financial and operational goals. Lead payroll projects that impact business operations. Provide guidance on future payroll organization. Complex Issue Management Make independent judgment and decisions on complex financial, payroll, and compliance issues. Advisory Role to Senior Leadership Provide financial and compliance advice, analysis, and guidance to senior leadership. Team Management Manage teams of managers and professionals, recruit, coach, inspire. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field. 7+ years progressive responsibilities and experience in Finance, Payroll, and/or Compliance with focus on governance, data quality, and process. Proven experience leading major projects and global teams. Strong understanding of Payroll and Time and Attendance risk control frameworks. HR, Contact Center knowledge or experience preferred. Excellent communication, influencing, analytical and problem‑solving skills. Broad industry knowledge in MedTech and Innovative Medicine sectors. Experience managing global teams and interacting with senior leaders across functions. Exceptional writing and communication skills; translate complex concepts into clear, concise messages. Ability to thrive in fast‑paced environments; flexible, collaborative, deadline‑driven. Other The position requires working with global teams in NA, EMEA, LATAM, and ASPAC time zones and may require up to 25% travel.
