We are seeking an Industrial Hygienist to support a variety of environmental and industrial hygiene projects throughout New York City and the five boroughs. This position will involve a combination of field-based inspections, environmental sampling, site investigations, and office-based project support.

The Industrial Hygienist will work alongside senior environmental professionals and project teams to conduct inspections and assessments related to asbestos, lead, and other environmental hazards. The ideal candidate has prior field experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to independently manage field assignments while meeting project and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections and environmental assessments throughout New York City and the five boroughs.
• Conduct asbestos and lead inspections in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
• Perform environmental and industrial hygiene sampling, monitoring, and field investigations.
• Document field conditions, observations, sampling activities, and inspection findings.
• Assist with site investigations and environmental compliance inspections.
• Prepare field reports, inspection documentation, project records, and other technical reports.
• Assist with data evaluation and preparation of project planning documents.
• Coordinate with project managers, senior environmental scientists, inspectors, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
• Track project requirements and ensure contractual and regulatory deadlines are met.
• Maintain accurate and organized field documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Biology, or a related field required .
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant environmental, industrial hygiene, inspection, or field experience preferred .
• Asbestos Inspector certification required.
• Lead Inspector certification required.
• Experience conducting asbestos and/or lead inspections, environmental sampling, or industrial hygiene field work.
• Knowledge of environmental and occupational health and safety regulations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prepare clear and accurate field documentation and reports.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Ability and willingness to travel to project sites throughout NYC and the five boroughs.

Work Environment

This is a field-focused position supporting projects throughout New York City and the five boroughs, including NYC agency projects. The Industrial Hygienist will work closely with senior environmental professionals and a team of Environmental Scientists and Inspectors.

The position offers exposure to a diverse range of environmental and industrial hygiene projects, with opportunities to expand technical expertise and grow within the organization.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New York, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
