Accountant

The Accountant is responsible for analyzing and reconciling multiple financial statement accounts, maintaining supporting financial and audit related schedules and other duties and special projects as assigned to support the Director of Finance and Accounting Manager in the day to day operations of the Finance department.

Schedule: Monday- Friday day shift Starting Salary: $75,000 (+) based on years of experience

Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Working knowledge of Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office. Proficient in Microsoft Excel including advanced functions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills are an asset.

Prepares general ledger journal entries and monthly account reconciliations. Tracks and records intercompany activity and performs monthly intercompany account reconciliation. Reconciles contributions and pledges receivable with organization’s Advancement Department. Records and tracks unrestricted/restricted activity and releases. Records payroll and related statistical entries. Reconciles payroll and time-off-benefit related accounts. Prepares labor reporting for distribution to operating departments. Reconciles and records prepaid expenses, deposits, other asset activity. Maintains supporting schedules. Prepares monthly revenue, census, and accounts receivable reconciliations. Works with revenue team to investigate and resolve variances. Maintains census data and prepares monthly occupancy/utilization reports. Distributes reports to responsible program staff. Prepares ICF day program, ICF tax assessment, and PDE revenue journal entries. Prepares monthly allocation entries. Prepares monthly workers compensation and health insurance activity analysis. Assists in prepares annual cost reports. Assists in the coordination and preparation of PA ICF waiver requests. Assists in the preparation of organization’s annual budget Assists in year-end audits. Supports Payroll in bi-weekly processing, timecard audit, direct deposit data entry, tax forms, etc. Must maintain current knowledge and will be responsible to manage all systems related to time entry support of Payroll Specialist during vacation, sick, or other time out of the office. Assists with company-wide timecard audit each pay period. Supports daily audit of personnel record changes and processes those applicable to payroll. Supports the processing of direct deposit and local tax withholding changes as needed. Responds to government agency requests for employee pay history and garnishments. Reports requested employment data to Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics on a monthly basis.
