Position Summary TheProgram Officerplays an integral role in supporting the Foundation's grantmaking, community engagement, research, and operational activities. This position works collaboratively across the organization to ensure the effective administration of grants, foster strong relationships with nonprofit partners, coordinate community events, and support the Foundation's mission-driven initiatives. Key Responsibilities Grants Management Support the administration of the Foundation's grantmakingprocess from applicationthrough reporting. Maintainaccurategrant records and ensure adherence to internal quality control procedures. Assistwith grantee training, application management, grant agreements, reporting, site visits, and portfolio administration. Provide administrative and project support to the CEO and Program team on grant-related initiatives. Community Engagement & Events Coordinate and support Foundation-sponsored meetings, educational programs, and community events. Assistwith planning andlogisticsfor stakeholder gatherings and grantee convenings. Represent the Foundation professionally at meetings andspecial events. Partnerships & Community Relations Build andmaintainpositive relationships with nonprofit partners, community organizations, funders, and stakeholders. Identify opportunities to expand partnerships that align with the Foundation's mission. Monitor emerging trends affecting older adults and individuals with seriousillnesses. Serve as a welcoming first point of contact for visitors, callers, and community partners. Research & Communications Conduct research to support program initiatives and strategic priorities. Prepare reports, presentations, briefing materials, and research summaries. Assistwith data analysis and presentation development for internal and external audiences. Support website updates using WordPress andassistwith email communications through Constant Contact. Board & Meeting Support Prepare materials for Board and committee meetings. Provide administrative support during executive, committee, and Board meetings. Assistwith meetinglogisticsand follow-up. Office Operations Manage incoming phone calls and direct inquiries appropriately. Coordinate meeting refreshments and office hospitality. Manage office supplies, mail distribution, deliveries, and filing systems. Support day-to-day administrative operations that contribute to an efficient office environment. Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's degree preferred, with coursework or experience related to nonprofit management, healthcare, aging services, social work, public health, or a related field. Two or more years of experience in a nonprofit, foundation, healthcare, or community-based organization. Experience supportinggrantsmanagement, program administration, or community initiatives preferred. Proficiencywith Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel. Experience usinggrantsmanagement or customer relationship management (CRM) systems. Familiarity with WordPress, Constant Contact, or similar communication platforms is preferred. Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Experience preparing written reports, presentations, and communications for a variety of audiences. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Exceptional organizational and time management skills. Ability to think critically, analyze information, and recommend practical solutions. Comfortable working independently while contributing effectively as part of a collaborative team. Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, sound judgment, and commitment to confidentiality. Ability to adaptina dynamic, mission-driven environment with changing priorities. Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends for Board meetings orspecial events. Work Environment This position follows a hybrid work schedule, combining work in a professional office setting with remote work from a quiet, dedicated home workspace with reliable internet access.Local travel throughout the Washington metropolitan area isrequiredfor meetings, site visits, and community events.
