Consumer Market Sales - Print & Ink

Job Summary The CMS – Print & Ink role is an Entry-level Consumer Partner sales position that serves as a subject matter expert for HP's Print hardware, supplies, and services portfolio. The role applies strong technical and business knowledge to support sales opportunities of moderate complexity, provide solution guidance, and enable effective customer and partner engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a go-to expert on HP Print hardware and supplies, including inkjet, laser, tank printers, and associated technologies.
  • Develop deep understanding of Print technologies, such as inkjet vs. laser architectures, printhead technologies, and system components.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of the Print business model, including hardware, supplies, revenue streams, and profitability drivers.
  • Lead subject matter expertise for Instant Ink, including plan structures, billing, enrollment and cancellation processes, and customer experience flows.
  • Gather and assess customer technical needs and business requirements.
  • Identify additional opportunity drivers such as lead generation and opportunity expansion.
  • Evaluate site‑specific parameters, constraints, and competitive factors impacting solution design.
  • Design and adapt Print & Ink solutions to meet customer needs, including validating solution fit and technical feasibility.
  • Contribute to implementation planning by developing timelines, test plans, and anticipating potential delivery challenges.
  • Provide solution recommendations that align customer needs with HP's Print & Ink portfolio and roadmap.
  • Maintain effective, professional communication with customers and partners throughout the sales cycle.
  • Advance opportunities through consultative selling techniques and technical credibility.
  • Build customer trust and loyalty by acting as a reliable technical advisor.
  • Partner closely with sales, account teams, and other technical resources to ensure customer satisfaction and issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create meaningful and impactful training and enablement content that drives reseller engagement and incremental sales.
  • Translate technical product information into clear, structured, and compelling materials for sales teams, partners, and customers.
  • Contribute to and maintain Print & Ink sales materials, presentations, and technical documentation.
  • Support internal and external training initiatives by applying instructional design principles to improve learning effectiveness.
  • Actively engage with NPI teams to support product introductions, including early access to materials, readiness activities, and launch coordination.
  • Participate in regular NPI forums and bi‑weekly alignment meetings as required.
  • Serve as a key resource for introduction-related questions, readiness feedback, and field enablement needs.
  • Interacts with partners, providing information about products, services, promotions, and configurations.
  • Achieves assigned quotas for organization products, services, and software by effectively promoting and selling them.
  • Maintains professional relationships with partner organizations, fostering trust and collaboration.
  • Analyzes sales opportunities and provides basic sales materials to partners, contributing to sales growth.
  • Performs market analysis to understand industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to support the development of sales strategies.
  • Participates in training sessions to acquire a comprehensive understanding of the organization's products, services, and offerings.
  • Gathers feedback from partners on customer experiences to support product and service improvement efforts.
Education & Experience Recommended
  • Four-year Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
  • Typically has 0-2 years of work experience, preferably in enterprise selling, channel & alliance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience working with technical solutions and customer-facing engagements within the Print, imaging, hardware, or technology industry preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Strong technical and solution knowledge within the Print & Ink portfolio, including hardware, supplies, and related services.
  • Solid understanding of HP product positioning, solution roadmaps, and competitive landscape within the area of specialization.
  • Ability to apply technical knowledge to customer opportunities, solution design, and consultative selling conversations.
  • Working knowledge of basic financial concepts, business models, and customer value drivers.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to mixed technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Experience collaborating across sales, presales, and cross‑functional teams on moderately complex opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment, make recommendations, and operate within established practices and guidelines.

The on-target earnings (OTE) range for this role is $84,600 to $130,250 USD annually with a 60%/40%(salary/incentive) mix. There are additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonuses and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only).
