Lead Mechanical Engineer Seattle, WA or Boise, ID Job Description This Lead Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for developing new clients and projects in the Healthcare sector, leading project teams to deliver those projects, and growing client relationships. The candidate will actively participate in the full project cycle with a focus on complex healthcare environments—hospitals, medical centers, and outpatient facilities—from design through final construction close‑out. Your Impact Develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. Manage client relationships and provide key technical input on pursuit efforts. Coordinate, review and approve mechanical design plans to ensure high quality, compliance with codes, ordinances, and regulations. Apply high-level mechanical engineering techniques and knowledge to identify improvements at various project phases: concept development, preliminary design, final design, procurement, construction, and operation. Plan and incorporate future‑ready techniques and strategies that account for system functionality to positively impact owners, occupants, and end users. Be involved from project inception to completion in the management of design and construction of mechanical systems. Work with clients and project teams to ensure deliverables are provided on schedule. Drive new business through building sustainable client relationships. Oversee and monitor cross‑functional engineering teams on mid‑level or multiple concurrent projects, including budgets, tracking hours and expenses, task completion, technical calculations, construction, compliance documentation, and regulatory and technical analysis memos. Prepare data and visualizations—tables, charts, reports, sketches, calculations, cross‑sections, and other illustrations—to interpret, present, or analyze complex data, findings, or analyses. Prepare comprehensive technical reports and presentations that explain research, findings, concepts, and recommendations to address design and construction issues or opportunities. Who You Are Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering. 7+ years of post‑education experience as a mechanical engineer focused on HVAC systems. Professional Engineering license required. Extensive knowledge of mechanical design, particularly in the Healthcare industry. Active network in the local design community with partners and clients in the Healthcare market. Proficiency with mechanical engineering principles, practices, processes, design/build and design assist delivery models, and application to permitting and project work‑related issues. Experience with project planning, design, and construction management, including active involvement in renovation, new design, and construction projects. Well‑defined knowledge of relevant engineering and mechanical construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record‑keeping requirements. Strong ability to perform technical computations and calculations applying mechanical engineering principles, interpreting plans and specifications, and making factual comparisons to regulations. Demonstrated effectiveness at coordinating and directing others to complete tasks safely and efficiently. Preferred Qualifications Master’s Degree in Engineering. LEED AP Certification. At least 5+ years of Project Management experience.
